She waited and waited... then the day arrived!

On June 13, 2011 our 13 yr old looked at the Compassion sponsor a child page for the 10,000 times (jk, not quite that many) for a child to sponsor. This night though she found ....  this precious little girl that jumped off the page at her. Jazzy Rain....   from the Philippines.
About a week later she received Jazzy's packet. It told all about her ... and that she lives with her mom, brother and sister. Alyssa continued to check the mail every day for her first letter. She grew more and more impatient. After about a month... we called Compassion and they said it sometimes takes several months. So she continued to check... and wait....
On August 1, 2011 ... 6 wks after sponsoring Jazzy Rain....  her first letter came in the mail!

It was written by Jazzy's mom...  Alyssa was so very excited. We sat together .. just her and I and read the letter. Jazzy's mom thanked Alyssa for sponsoring her daughter. She said she was a widow and had two other children. She said Jazzy's favorite color was pink and yellow, her best friend are Zinnia, Dyka, and Angel. She asked about Alyssa... and how old she was. Jazzy did write her favorite bible verse...
Isaiah 6:36...   Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.. the earth is full of His glory. That verse already means so much to Alyssa... it was God's affirmation to her!

After Alyssa and I read Jazzy's letter we called everyone in the room and read it to them. Everyone liked hearing about Jazzy Rain. After a few minutes Dakota (18) said...  "you know what is really cool about Compassion? They focus on how important it is to write letters to your child... not the money." God continues to change our family... one child at a time!

Alyssa has already mailed 3 letters to Jazzy Rain...  she loves her so much. I am so thankful God has connected them together.

~We love you, Jazzy Rain~

Thanks for letting me share....
