Most Important Thing....

As I have shared here.....   often.....   how fast time goes. With three grown children ...  I have experienced this first hand. Seems so weird to think I have 28, 24 and 20 year old children. Just yesterday they were 10, 6 and 2....

Twenty three years of home schooling and ....  only eight more.....

For those of you who are new to home schooling or those of you with young children.....   if you asked me ....  for some advice, I would tell you to... laugh often.  Do fun stuff with them.  Lots of times we would do their math and phonics/english/handwriting and that's it.  We would take walks, look for bugs or just read aloud.   You know though.... I did not do that at first....   poor Michael.   I made him do every quiz, test and all the pages of all the books.   THAT. IS. CRAZY.

As my youngest is 10.....   I miss my little kids...  toddlers....  kindergarten... first grade... just beginning to read. Why did I stress so much if they didn't get it?

They can all read now. They read well.
First day of school this year

Lately, I have been thinking of that song.....

"What if I gain the whole world and lose my soul?"

Only I have been singing it .....

"What if I gain the whole world and lose my kids soul?"  Of course, I KNOW that I can not save my children.....
But....  I only have a small window of time to pour into them....  and then... they become adults and go into all the world.....

It goes so quickly.....  and I am so thankful  for the years God has allowed me to be with them....

The most important thing is that they know how much Jesus loves them.....

and I do tell Lysa, Wyatt and Wesley .... how much Jesus loves them.....

Jesus.  He is the most important thing.  That my children walk in Truth.  That they love JESUS!

May they see Jesus in me.....    may they see the JOY that Jesus is in my life....  may they not see me fussing and stressed about things that do not matter....

Oh that they would walk in Truth.
