Mended~

A few days ago I was in Walmart..... and I found this book!
I have only read a few chapters but I am already thinking about sharing this with friends. Oh my it is wonderful. Angie Smith is the wife of Todd Smith the lead singer of the group Selah. She has a blog~ Bring the Rain.

I hope to share with you more as I continue to read these next few weeks. Here is a snippet that ministered to me...

It was as though God were saying, Here you are, Angie, You are mended. You are filled with my Spirit, and I am asking you to pour yourself out.

The image of my life as a broken pitcher was beautiful to me, but at the same time, it was hard to look at all of the cracks. I ran my fingers along them and told Him I wish it had been different. I wished I had always loved Him, always obeyed Him, always sought Him the way I should. I was mad at the imperfections, years wasted, gaping holes where it should be smooth.

But God, my ever-gracious God, was gentle and yet convicting as He explained.

My dearest Angie, how do you think the world has seen Me? If it wasn't for the cracks, I couldn't seep out the way I do. I chose the pitcher. I chose you, just as you are.      ~Angie Smith ~Mended

Just wanted to share......   would love to hear about what you are reading.

  2. Beautiful words! Sounds just like life...cracks & the Lord asking us to pour ourselves out & allow Him to work! Right now I am reading a book I bought from you at the CCCHE book sale "Homeschooling with Confidence." It has REALLY changed my view of homeschooling & how the DVD's & doing every single part of 1 cirriculum may be a way to start you off but not to kill your kids that way! We are alot more laid back, having fun, & still learning this year!!! :) Love ya! Can't wait to hear more about the book! Laurie

  3. I also love a good book recommendation! I just started reading 'Unglued' by Lysa TerKeurst. Kept hearing great things about it, so added it to my reading pile!
