Where my heart's at....

For almost a year now... the Lord has really been changing my heart. It is very hard for me to explain. Through a group of children coming to our church last year, then following them and becoming friends with them..... I was able to see a glimpse of the mission field.

Making funny faces.....

Our sponsored child~ Jamira. This was the last time we saw her before she returned to the orphanage in Uganda.

Most didn't understand why we wanted to keep seeing them but we were building friendships that we hoped would last a a life time. Plus God was/is doing something that I just can't explain.

During this time I realized just how "comfortable" I had become with life. You know.... the every day stuff, going to church.... eating out, visiting friends, paying bills .... but what was I doing for the Kingdom of God?

How long had it been since I shared Jesus with someone.....

I do talk to my children daily about Jesus.... and we study & memorize scripture and sing to Him. But you know.....

just "comfortable" with every day life.

I started reading David Platt's book "Radical" ~

"While the goal of the American dream is to make much of us, the goal of the gospel is to make much of God." ~ Radical

As I said... hard to explain. May not be making any sense....

As you can see in my side bar.... Compassion Bloggers are NOW in Guatemala. Please be praying for them. Follow with me and read each day as they will be blogging and posting pictures.

If you will open your heart to sponsor a child.... it will change your life. Our compassion child, Ucok from Indonesia writes us... and we write him. I hope to one day go on a Compassion tour and meet him. It is a small amount each month.... but it is a great amount to Ucok.

Please click on the link and read about the Guatemala trip. It will touch your heart... in a deep way. Just read Ann's and she explains it well. Oh I know I am not in a foreign country but honestly.... a year ago I had no desire to go there.... I was ok just living in my bubble... but God is way bigger than MY bubble. Why do I keep Him in a box?

Please take a minute and read Ann's.... she makes lots of sense.

Do follow the Compassion Bloggers... you will be blessed more than you can ever imagine.
