when plans get interrupted....

Angry vs Joy.....

Since we came home from Florida on Tuesday it has been hard to get back into the swing of things. My Wyatt & Wesley have been very rowdy. Yesterday I became fustrated and quit when we were about 3/4 of the way finished. Just told them to go run & play.

Today.... I felt fustrated again ... as I had to keep them on task. We did better than yesterday but still not up to my expectations.

Dh was outside working in the yard and I needed to talk with him so I left the boys with something to do. Wyatt was in another room reading and Wesley was writing his spelling words.

After maybe 5 minutes they both were outside with us. I was sitting on the swing talking to dh. Wesley asked dh if they could play football. I felt my stress rising..... Dh said they could. So Wesley runs to get the football! He comes back out and says "mom, can we play NOW... please mom?!"

I said "yes." I felt fustrated and angry.... as I sat there on the swing and watched them.... the fustration started to melt away. I smiled. I told Alyssa to get my camera.

football=recess.

So even when our plans get interrupted... we can rest in His grace. Ask for His forgiveness (from my anger/fustration) and grab hold of the moment... your camera... and smile....

  1. Amen to that!

    Boys have a lot ore energy to waste than girls outside like that anyway. I think God designed for them to desire to be outside, working, expending energy...and when that is bottled up it makes for a crazy mama:) That is my experience anyway.

  2. Sometimes when we are frustrated is a good time to just lay aside the day and take a break :)

  3. Good call mom!! :-) Nothing in my life ever goes the way I plan for it--well if it does, I'm totally shocked. Not that I never get frustrated (and I should try harder to keep things on course) I just say, "Well, God's got other plans". We may be a little behind in our academics but we have lots of fun!! Life is crazy most of the time anyway.

    Just catching up on your blog. Love all the pics!!

    Love,
    Kris
