Go into all the World....

Our oldest daughter, Mandi will leave this Saturday for Africa.  Kenya.   She's wanted to go since she was young.   Last summer she went to Ukraine and worked in a children's camp.  She still wanted to go to Africa.  We just didn't know how God would bring it about.  To be honest with you....  I doubted it would ever happen.  .

God is so much bigger than I could ever imagine.  So often I put Him in a box.   We are such a "comfortable" people.

She will be helping in a children's orphanage.  She will fly into Nairobi, Kenya.  She will then travel about 6 hrs by shuttle bus to a village.   She's so exited.  I am nervous but have such a peace.  God has her right in the palm of His hands.  Mandi will be there for a tleast three weeks but may stay longer.

Pray with me....  pray for her travels.  Pray for the people and children she will be ministering to.  Pray that God will pour His grace, strength and mercy on this whole experience.

May the JOY of the Lord be yours~

  3. Teena,
Definitely praying!! Letting our baby birds fly from the nest is really hard. Letting them fly so far away is really, REALLY hard. But if the Lord's eye is on the sparrow... :-)

I pray that the Lord will use her mightily and that His work will be done through her. And of course that the Angels of the Lord will surround her and keep her safe--bring her home again safely. :-)
    Love,
    Kris

  4. Oh Teena! How exciting for her. I will be praying! I actually went to Nairobi 11 1/2 years ago while pregnant with McGee!! Hubby and I went for two weeks to work with a Bible college there and thought God was leading us to go as missionaries. God closed that door and directed us elsewhere but it is a VERY memorable experience! She will return with many tales to tell and hopefully many lives touched by her gentle and loving approach as she lends herself to BE 'the gospel with skin on' during these weeks. Love you Mrs. Teena! and Mandi! lol like you said...all is in our big Daddy Father's hands and He knows our every though and hair on our head. I heard something really neat the other night.
    Close your eyes.
Imagine you are on the beach.
    (keep those eyes closed lol)
Now pick a big handful of sand and let it fall right through those fingers.
Think about how many grains of sand you are holding right now (in ur imagination! lol)
Now look as far as you can to the left and to the right....
God's thoughts for you are like the grains of sand....think how many grains you can't see...yet you already see sooooooo many!
    How amazing is our God???
Love you both so much and i'm prayin for ya!
    Love always,
    Karen <3

  8. I'll be praying! I so appreciate that you say you are "comfortable" people. It is such an act of faith to follow God into the unknown, trusting in Him to guide your steps. Way to go, Mandi for having such faith!
