Wow.... next week we will start our 20th year of home schooling.
My first year.... 1991.... I only had one student.
Michael~ 1st grade
Mandi was 2.7 yrs
when we started. Little did I know that God would bless us with four more children ....
and I would have the awesome gift of teaching them at home.
Three days before we were suppose to start .... our house burned.
All of our school books too!
But you know.... three weeks later we were in a new home, on 5 acres of land.... starting our first day of home schooling.
We are still on that 5 acres of land.... I love it.
God is faithful.... He makes a way when there seems to be no way....
We celebrate our new school year by a picnic in the woods... sometimes we wait and do it in Sept. because the Georgia heat is TOO hot in August.
My next post I will share what we have used, will use and our plans for this year.
I read an excellent post tonight over at Angie's blog. It made me laugh and I could relate... as I read about her home schooling... I thought of our early years. Wow, 20 yrs... thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Michael, Mandi, Dakota, Alyssa, Wyatt & Wesley for the awesome gift of being your teacher and your mom.... I love you.
Isn't that great? And isn't homeschooling great. I will be beginning my 23rd year. Crazy, crazy. I feel so old.
ReplyDeleteHi Thanks for stopping by! And thanks for the herb advise!
ReplyDeleteSince he might end up with the RAD or asthma, I am going to have to look into that syrup too.
I will pray for your friend Nicole as well. Heartbreaking situation.

You have my absolute admiration Teena. My daughter-in-law has been homeschooling for about eleven years. Her oldest (my precious granddaughter Stephanie) just graduated from high school.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a wonderful job!
20 years, that is awesome!!! Your two little boys sure are growing!
