God is the God of Hope.

Some of you may remember that in 2009-2010~ our family met an amazing group of children. The Children of the World Choir.  They came to our church twice in 2009. Our hearts were ripped open. I believe this is when my heart was truly broken for the poor.  We sponsored Ucok through Compassion International in 2008 but seeing this children and getting to know them....  touched us in such a deep way.
That year we became so attached to them and would find where their concerts were and if at all possible we would go see them.  We often brought treats to them.  We fell in love with all of them and several became extra close to us.  One little Ugandan girl name Jamira just captured our hearts.

Over the years we have been able to keep in contact with several of the chaperones from Nepal & the Phillippines.  We haven't heard much from the Ugandan children. We have had a friend go over to Uganda and visit the orphanage twice.  The first time he went we sent gifts and a letter to Jamira and the other children.  The last time he went we did not know until he returned. He sent us a letter from Jamira and she was asking why she hasn't heard from us and if we had forgotten her.  She was begging us to write.  Our hearts was so sad.

Lysa and I started praying that God would connect the dots so we could get word to Jamira.  We looked online for the orphanage and found a church that supports Destiny Children's Home.  We contacted them by email and we also sent an email to the children's home (not knowing if we would hear or not)~ the church did contact us and tell us that we could mail letters to them. They go over to Destiny every year or so. They informed us that they would send the letter.  We also have a friend whose daughter is in Uganda but found out she is a long way away from Kampala, Uganda. We did send a letter by email to her and she was going to try to mail it....

I know this is long.....

Just this week I received an email from the director of Destiny!!

I hope this email finds you well rested.

It is always a pleasure to hear from people who love us here at Destiny.

I will let Jamira know that you have not forgotten her.

You can send the letter to that address; we will receive it.

Allow me to thank you for the love, prayers and support.

God richly bless you.

Isn't God great? He connects the dots, He gives us the desires of our hearts! Please, continue to pray that Jamira will receive all our letters that we send! Pray that she will know how much we love her and that we pray for her all the time!
This is Jamira now. Hasn't she grown! She turned 13 in November!

**** the organization that is partnered with COTW is NOT Compassion International.  I am so very thankful that Compassion is such an amazing organization that allows us to speak into the life of a child and change their lives in Jesus name!

He is the God of HOPE.

***thank you all for praying, the messages, comments and most of all your prayers. God is faithful and He always always gives me MORE grace when I am weary. He is my Hope & my Peace.

Sponsor a child and change their life forever!
