This Time of Year....

So much going on this time of year but this year is a little different for us.  Our budget is lower and so our gift giving is a lot less. We do try to give back, we write and send Christmas theme stickers & letters to our sponsored children. We buy items that give back. Although this year has been less and I find myself feeling guilty. With my parents and my husbands parents gone....   our gift giving usually consist of our children and my sister.  We do bake and make candy for neighbors and a few extended family members.

At times even that becomes stressful but this year has been different....   I have been a little stressed at times but so much LESS then years past.  Every thing is wrapped and under the tree.

Our school is lighter this week and on Friday we will officially be on "Christmas break."  We are still doing our Advent Surprises and it is so much fun.  They love it.  Their favorite so far was "making snow!"

It was so much fun.  Focusing on Jesus, spending less and making memories.  To make the snow...

Snow:
2 boxes of corn starch
1.5 can of barbasol original shaving cream

It is messy but they loved it sooooo much!

We are also reading Ann Voskamp's The Greatest Gift.  We are doing our Jesse Tree.

Slowing down.....  spending time with the kids.... reading, baking and laughing.  Sharing memories with them of our past Christmas'.  So very thankful to be able to have this time with them. I am so thankful to be their mom.

Hope you are enjoying your Christmas season.
